Welcome Back!
How have your first days of the 2021-2022 school been? Personally, it’s been exhilarating being back together. Every school event has been a great community-builder. It has been outstanding to welcome over 230 new students, making us over 900 strong as a student body!
Recently at one of our events, I was asked a question: What is something parents can do at home to support their child’s success in life and in school? What a marvelous question! Here are three actions I believe parents can take that can lead to a child’s success:
Keep the Gospel center in your home
Build your child up in Christ, developing your child’s God-given gifts/talents
Be intentional to develop in your child a Christ-like character that can be used by God to make an impact in the world for Christ
The above answers are taken from a book I’m reading right now with the Big Valley Christian School Board: Kingdom Education by Glen Schultz. I highly recommend this book to any parent, educator, and church leader! I’ll be unpacking the content of Schultz’s book throughout the year right here in our Lions’ Blog.
So welcome back to school. I pray this school year will be filled with growth for each of our students and our families! Beginning next week, I’ll share more thoughts and tools on how you can keep the Gospel center in your home. Until next week...
