Dedicated to What We CAN Do!
Big Valley Christian School has had to navigate a tremendous amount of challenging. With many restrictions and mandates surrounding COVID-19, we are regularly faced with what we CAN’T do. Because of these challenges, many of the events and offerings of a traditional school year have been altered, postponed or cancelled. And honestly, navigating what we can’t do to get to what we can do can be difficult! Yet BVCS is dedicated to moving ahead to discover what we CAN do in light of all the COVIS-19 obstacles.
Let me be clear - we are extremely grateful! Getting students back on campus for in-person instruction was a great start to overcoming a huge CAN’T. Now, as we move forward, we are asking the question, what CAN BVCS do next to nurture and equip our students? To begin, we have reintroducing events and offerings like junior high and high school in-person Chapels, elementary Spelling Bees, dress up days, and athletics (golf and cross country at the high school level). Step by step, it’s a start...
We know that even with all of the challenging obstacles, the Lord is doing amazing things! A few examples are:
Students have chosen to be baptized,
The social connections among the student body are more positive than ever,
Our staff and families have been incredibly dedicated to students and to Christian education.
We have hope as we move forward into the spring of 2021 on a path toward normalcy and even more stability for students. We know that with the Lord’s strength and guidance, BVCS will continue to overcome and work through challenges and “can’ts.” We are dedicated to remaining prayerfully attentive to what we CAN do in the days ahead. Let’s all be encouraged by Psalm 31:24 to “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!”
How about your family? What is something you want to see return to BVCS as we move forward? We’d love to hear from you! Email info@bvcslions.com to share your thoughts with us.
