Big Valley Christian School impacts hundreds of students and families each year (and has impacted thousands of students/families over the past 45 years) by providing a Christ-centered, college and career preparatory education. As we look to the future, our goal is to remain the best place in the Central Valley for families to send their children for a Christ-centered education with a Biblical worldview that prepares students for their future.

Big Valley Christian School has grown steadily since it was launched in 1974 as a ministry of Big Valley Grace Church and now serves over 900 students in grades Preschool  – 12th grades. We want to be known as a  Christ-centered, college and career preparatory school that has an unswerving commitment to educating students with a Biblical worldview. As the 120 staff members steward the 60-acre campus, it is our desire to honor God by creating a top-tier learning environment where students are challenged to grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically.

The world needs excellent Christian schools! Many students and families who desire to learn in a Christ-centered environment choose BVCS because they share in the mission to nurture and equip children to impact the world for Jesus.

Consider:

  • A 2017 Barna Research Report on “What Parents Look for in Christian Schools” indicated that parents of Christian school students “want more for their children than a list of accomplishments or a path to wealth.” Parents consistently chose “instill strong principles and values” as their highest goal for their child’s education. BVCS educators share this goal and partner with families to instill Christian principles and values into every aspect of a BVCS education.

  • A 2014 Barna Research Survey showed that trust in the public school system is failing. 46% of U.S. parents surveyed believe education has gotten worse. And while the majority of adults surveyed send their children to public school, only 26% of them say that public school is their first choice. BVCS aims to provide an outstanding and affordable option for families who wish to send their children to a Christian school.

  • A LifeWay study found that 34% of church dropouts report that, “I moved to college and stopped attending church.” BVCS purposefully connects students with resources in Bible classes to ensure they get plugged into Bible-believing churches in college.

  • A distinctive for BVCS is the thriving relationship with Big Valley Grace Community Church. A key factor for students’ continued involvement in church is their connection to adults in their congregation. This intentional partnership between school and church increases the likelihood that students will stick with their faith beyond graduation.

For the 2021-2022 school year, we will be sharing stories IMPACT, starting with our alumni. We would love to hear from you! Do you know a BVCS graduate who is impacting the world for Jesus Christ? Reach out to me at michellem@bvg.org. I’d love to hear their story!
