Grateful in 2022

In 2021, Big Valley Christian School was able to provide 900 students (grades Preschool — 12th grade) with a Christian education, preparing them spiritually and academically to impact the world for Christ. We would not be able to carry out this critical work without our great staff, great families, and wonderful support from Big Valley Grace and the community.

The last two years have been challenging, yet there is much to give thanks for! Here are just a few highlights from 2021:

  • BVCS opened the 2021-2022 school year (in person) with 900 students - up from 740 in 2020-2021.

  • We employ 120 staff at BVCS.

  • We have hired several BVCS alumni as staff.

  • Our students collected over 900 bags of food for the Modesto Gospel Mission during our Do-A-Thon.

  • We started two 8th grade discipleship groups (Lionhearts for boys, Goldenhearts for girls) - another example of how our staff gets to nurture students in their relationship with Christ.

  • We were able to take all of 6th & 7th grade to Hume Outdoor Education Camp and all of High School to Hume’s Spiritual Emphasis Camp.

  • We’ve been able to have fairly normal fall and winter sports seasons.

  • We’ve had two theatre art performances and two more are upcoming.

  • As an organization we are completely debt-free, allowing us to budget and plan for projects that have had to wait.

We are grateful for our community and thankful for all the new families that have joined us this year! We look forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do in 2022.
